For I Was Hungry

… for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me. — Matthew 25:35-36.

How do we show our love of God? By our actions and attitudes toward our neighbors. As we shelter in comfort, we are called to remember those who lack shelter. As we dine on carry out, we are called to remember those who have no food. As we enjoy and extra glass of wine, we are called to provide water to those who don’t even have clean water. As we only wear our Covid clothes, we are called to clean out our closets of clothes we never wear and give those clothes to those who have none.

I am called to consider those who are less fortunate during this crisis, for there but for the grace of God go I.
