But What Does It Say

But what does it say? — Romans 10:8.

The above question leads into our duty as a follower of Christ, but today I want to use it in a different context.

Imagine before you take any action, or utter any opinion you would ask yourself — “But what does it say.”  Do your actions or words reflect anger, confidence, hatred, or peace? Everything we do or say is a reflection of who we are. I certainly have opened my mouth and inserted a foot, or wished I could take back something I did. We all have and will again.

But I’m going to try to be more patient and ask myself, especially in an important context, to ask myself — “But what does it say.”

How about you?
