Unbreakable Bond

There can be a happy world and there will be once again, when men create a strong bond towards one another, a bond unbreakable by a studied prejudice or a passing circumstance. — Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

A great sports team creates a bond. I know my Razorback team did back in the late 60’s. We remain fast friends to this day, and despite differences of opinions and fifty years of different lives, we remain friends and bonded together. Many great athletes will tell you the same about their teammates. My daughters have  groups of friends that went to college together and have remained close. They have learned that small differences cannot break their bonds of love and friendship.

As we search for solutions to our political differences and racial tensions we need to remember Ruth’s words above. When we first work to create a bond by emphasizing our similarities and solidify that bond with love and friendship, our differences cannot come between us.
