Searching

From time to time, someone goes missing. They were last seen climbing a mountain, swimming in the ocean, or hiking some remote trail. Too often the search is only partially successful, a body is found, but the person has died. Often, a person lost results in a tragedy.

There is a different kind of lost. In this case, the person lost hasn’t gone missing. Rather the person lost has gotten off the path he was intended to take in life. He/she has wandered off course or been detoured by life’s events. I can identify with this person, can you?

Life is a journey and it is easy to lose sight of the destination God has reserved. We search for the right path or a sign to get us back on track, but that search is too obscure. Sometimes we have to stop looking for the path, and simply focus on the destination.
