Paths

One of my favorite things to do at the beach is to watch the seagulls and pelican fly over the ocean, scanning the sea for fish. They seem to ride forever on a current of air. It’s as if they have located a secret path in the atmosphere, and all that is required of them is to extend their wings and glide along the path that carries them over the water.

David in the 23rd psalm talks about God leading us down the path of righteousness. I read recently that although all is not right with the world as we know it, deep down, all is right. If we trust that all will be right in the life God has created for us and in us, then we too can sail the paths of faith that carry us above the ocean of the dark and the unknown.
