Archbishop Anskar

“If I were worthy in my Lord’s sight, I would ask of him to grant me one miracle – that he would make me a good man.” – Archbishop Anskar.

Today in the church’s calendar we commemorate a French monk, who by some is called the Apostle of the North. He is the source of one of my favorite prayers, quoted above. In a few words he sums up humility, faith, strength and servanthood. Today is a good day for me to whisper his words again.
