Wishing Someone Ill

I have a hard time as a former football player with finding out that some people thought it was a good idea to put out bounty’s on star NFL players. Football is as competitive a sport as it comes, and I admit relishing when I hear that Texas just lost a game, but most athletes never wish that an opponent gets hurt. Watch sometime, when someone is really injured on the field. Both teammates and opponents are really concerned about the man lying unconscious on the field. Although, a player wants to win, most do not want to win because their opponent got injured.

It’s a small truth in sports, and a much bigger one in life. When we wish someone ill, we do unto others, what we would never wish for ourselves.
