Consequences

A reporter called me yesterday. He was doing a story on how John Edwards could “come back” if he was found not-guilty. I’m not sure he was very excited with my answers especially when I mentioned the presumption of innocence. The reporter seemed to be more interested in what people’s reaction would be if John returned to the practice of law, politics, or charitable service.

We dwell too much upon the thought of consequences – “What will people think, What will be the result of what we say or do. How will it be regarded.” We forget if our purpose is truly wise, righteous, and meant to serve God then its fruit will be eventually good, in the overall nature of things.
