Louis Schaufele

It is rare for a football referee to be admired, liked, and respected by the coaches and players. It is rare for a banker to be known for his compassion and heart. It is rare and exceptional for a community leader to care much more for his community than himself. It is rare and unusual for a good friend’s father to become your good and loyal friend as well. It is even rarer that from the President of the United States to the poorest and most downtrodden should and do all call him friend and owe him much more than a debt of gratitude. When all these rarities combine into one, you only start to know the man — Louis Schaufele.

May God be with him as he continues on his journey, and comfort his family and all of us for our tremendous loss.
