Trust

Still Heavy is thy heart?

Still sink thy spirits down?

Cast off the weight, let fear depart.

And every care be gone. – P Gearhart.

Do you sometimes get frustrated in your spiritual life? I know I do. I become anxious that  I’m not accomplishing God’s plan for me, in fact I have no idea what it is. Does it ever feel like you are running in place? When it gets too overwhelming, I remember a basic precept, much like “dropping down” in track that I’ve written about before.

I remind myself to simplify and not be anxious. St. Francis De Sales said it well, “Do not examine so closely the progress of your soul…. Let your spiritual life be formed by your duties, and by the actions which are called forth by circumstances…. God, who has led you safely on so far, will lead you to the end.”

Put it more simply, “trust in God.”

 Have a good weekend. W.
