HGH for the Soul

Most of you to some degree or the other have followed the stories about HGH (Human Growth Hormones) and their use by athletes to become stronger and faster. When I was 13, I admit reading that Jerry Lucas,( Ohio State and Boston Celtic star) ate a jar of peanut butter every day for a year and grew eight inches. I started eating peanut butter non-stop until my mom put a stop to it. That was  my only experience with experimenting with something that was rumored to give me added strength. Popeye’s love for spinach straight from a can didn’t have much appeal. To this day I don’t think peanut butter or spinach are banned substance on the NFL, NBA, of NCAA’s list, although who knows with the NCAA. Their rules would confuse rabbinic scholars, but I digress.

Today’s reading: He giveth power to the faint, and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Isaiah 40:29

There are certainly times that we are exhausted spiritually, feeling so discouraged and disheartened we are ready to give up. A simple movement of the heart toward God will renew your power. Remember he doesn’t gives us “a load we can’t tote,” whatever life demands of us God will give us the strength and courage we need.
