God’s Way

The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with Peace. – Psalms 24:11

One of the most difficult lessons we learn over the years is how to react calmly and with peace in the face of anger, violence, and hatred. We learn over time that passive resistance to injustice is God’s way. We learn that calm in the midst of crisis is God’s way. We learn that it takes more strength to be silent and patient than to lash out, and that humility is God’s way. God’s way is a paradox. His strength is found in yielding, submission, and kindness.

When we pray for strength may it be for the strength of God rather than the strength of force. When we pray for Peace may it be for God’s peace, not the Peace that is obtained by violence and death.
