Contend with the Horses

If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? – Jer. 12:5

The true measure of our love for God is found in our actions toward our brothers and sisters. If we have a cold heart towards friend or family, why should you wonder why you are indifferent towards God? If we are cold in our prayers, why are we surprised when we find our faith not comforting? If we have no tender, cheerful, affectionate love to those whom we spend our daily hours, how can we feel the pulse and ardor of love that emanates from the Almighty.

Begin with the “footmen,” before you try to run with the stallions.
