Servant

Yes, we should talk to God through prayer. It is okay to unburden yourself to God and expect comfort and love, but God is not a butler whose function is to be at our beck and call. Our prayers should not be directives for God to take over when we are too tired to do something ourselves. We should not expect God to be some kind of consultant who has all the answers to life. He is also not there to grant special favors to those who lobby him with constant requests. God did not take human form so we could order him around, but so that we can join him in a redemptive life.

God knows our needs or he wouldn’t be God. Would you have it any other way? We are called to be his servant by serving others, not the other way around.
