Thirsty Spirit

I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirst for rain. — Psalms 143:6

Monday usually brings a resolution to eat better, exercise more, and meditate. Why meditate? Consider how satisfying a cold drink of water is after you have been out in the hot, dry sun for a long while.
One’s spirit becomes parched as well. What is true for the body depleted of life-giving water, is just as true for the soul of any person wandering in a spiritual wasteland.
