Fifth Sunday In Lent

Whenever we turn on the blame game it keeps us from genuine communication with others, and we fortify our use of it with our individual concepts of right and wrong. The closer someone is to us, the more we use the blame device, but it’s is not limited to individuals, we do it with political systems, religions, and general society.
Blame is a very common, ancient, and well-perfected device for trying to feel better — blame others. We use blame to protect what is soft and open and tender about ourselves, like our heart.
It would be much better to own and accept the pain, rather than to seek the comfortable ground called blame.
