Laughter

That day is lost which one has not laughed. — French proverb
I have to read a newspaper every morning primarily for the comic section. I have been fortunate in the fact that most every where I have ever lived the local paper has had a good comics section. I actually think the NY Times could use a few comics such as Doonesbury, Calvin and Hobbes, and the revived Bloom County.
We used to have politicians who could laugh at themselves, but I think the 24 news cycle has taken that away from us, but what better gauge of a person is the ability to be humble and enjoy a good joke on oneself.
Sometimes when we are experiencing tragedy we think its bad form to laugh, and if we do we forget how good a belly laugh makes us feel. A good laugh makes us feel good all over.
Whatever you face this weekend take some time to experience happiness and joy. Draw on your sense of humor to overcome any negative thoughts.
Make room for happiness today and this weekend.
