No Room In Our Lives

Yesterday we discussed and thought about the fact that when Christ was about to enter the world, his parents were told there was no room.
Perhaps, as we approach this snowy weekend and bundle up, we might ask ourselves is there room for God in our lives.
Subconsciously do we say, “Sorry, there is no room, no room at all,’ even though we might publicly express a welcome.

If God came into our heart, who would have to leave to make room — our greed, our selfishness, our attachment to the material world?

Ask yourself in prayer or meditation what is it in our heart that take’s up God’s space.

The amazing thing about God is that there is never a life so soiled and messy that he doesn’t want to come in.

Remember he was not born in a palace and raised to keep his hands clean and his clothes unsoiled.

He was born in a manger, and his entire life was one where he visited the common, dirty, and despised homes of sinners, taxpayers, and the unclean.

Perhaps the true Epiphany of this day is that God wants to come into our house and heart, no matter how messy or dirty.

All we have to say is Welcome, there is always room for you in my heart.
