Create In Me A Clean Heart, O God, — Psalms 51:11
As an author I notice what books fly off the shelves and what is relegated to the back.
Bestseller lists are always full of books about new ways to lose weight, ease tension, how to stop worrying, and acquire wealth.
Sadly, if you go into a bookstore and ask for a book about acquiring a “clean heart,” you are likely to be directed to the medical section to learn more about healthy hearts and how to unclog one’s arteries.
I couldn’t find a “clean heart diet,” but it’s only a matter of time.
However those who engage in morning prayer and meditation already know that inner peace and serenity is not anything recently discovered.
Its source is God and is nurtured by the habit of inner integrity and constant communication.
It might make a very short book and cookbook, but a clean heart is just what the doctor ordered.
