He Is At My Right Hand

I have set the Lord always before me, because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. — Psalms 16:7-8.

God is ever present at our side, but whether we recognize his presence and communicate is up to us. He never forces himself on us. In modern language we might say, “God has got your back.”

I played offensive tackle a long, long, time ago, and my job was to protect the blind/back side of my quarterback. So I understand well what it means to have someone’s back. I bet all of you do as well.

Now, if God is at your right hand and has your back, the next question is: Who do you stand beside? Who’s back have you got?
