My Strength

I love you, O Lord, my strength. — Psalm 18:1.

Samson believed that his strength came from his uncut hair. I’ve known athletes that believed their strength or speed came from God. Yet, I believe David is talking about a different kind of strength — an inner strength rather than a physical strength.

We all face times where we need the inner strength that only God can provide: Strength to overcome the fear of death, strength to overcome one of our greatest fears, strength to stand up to injustice, etc. Amazingly when we call on God for strength, he/she provides. God doesn’t necessarily take away the illness or fear, but God always provides us strength no matter the distance we have placed between us.

If you could use a little strength call on him/her.
