Still Hanging On

Life gives us lots of wisdom about enduring the tough times. We hear phrases such as “one day at a time,” and “I’m hanging in there.” We are taught to hold on no matter what, but I wonder if “hanging in there” is always the right answer.

Sometimes isn’t it better to just let it/her/him go? Like Frodo’s golden ring sometimes the burden of caring for something “precious” weighs us down and freedom can only come when we let it go.

Through meditation, deep thought, and prayer we grow to understand when we should “hang on” and when we should “let go.” If you are pondering such a choice, take your time, talk to God and yourself, but once your decision is made never look back.
