Holy Saturday

Another dear and wonderful friend sent me one of her father’s sermons. He used to use Christ’s last words as a basis for his Good Friday sermons. I used his sermon for my morning meditation and thought it appropriate for Holy Saturday’s Pew. Happy Easter one and all!!!

Christ’s words:  “Father into thy hands I commend my spirit.

“Christ asks us to remember that the cross is the sign beneath which we will do our living; that the last word from Christ’s last day and dying is in a different reference appropriate as the first word of our everyday living.  For the committed life to which we are called by the cross is not one to be entered upon at death rather should we start each day of grace not to die but to live beneath the cross of Jesus.”
