Everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. — Anon.
I came across the above recently, and I can’t get it out of my head. Some of us hide our struggles better than others, many shouldn’t, and yet, time and wisdom have taught me the truth of the above.
I have also learned that if I listen more and talk less, I will learn about my neighbor’s struggle, and maybe, just maybe, will be able to offer comfort.
There is a comfort in knowing that we all are fighting some battle. Our battles are unique, and many may not seem significant in the grand scheme of things, but they are struggles none the less.
I have fought battles all my life, some self-imposed and some not, but they all seemed important at the time. God always gave me the ability to overcome and move past. I can’t say I won many battles, or I didn’t suffer loss, but I always emerged smarter, wiser, and able too put one foot in front of the other.
God offers us all that ability, all we need do is ask.
Broken and embattled; if we viewed all we encountered as one or the other or both – would we then truly embody what the Christian ideology would have us be on this earth?
