Everything Shall Prosper

…everything they do shall prosper. — Psalm 1:3.

No, the psalmist isn’t talking about Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos. He’s talking about trees planted by streams of water that bear fruit and maintain their leaves.

I think he or she is also telling us something about patience and the way we should live our lives. If we are grounded in a good environment of life’s equivalents of good soil, fresh water, and warm sun then we will grow, bear fruit, and “prosper.”

Our psalmist is reminding us that the “basics” are key to life’s success — a loving home, nurturing friendships, and the warmth of God.
