Wherever You Go

Be strong and  courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. — Joshua 1:9b.

In Ruth 1:16–17, Ruth tells Naomi, her Israelite mother-in-law, “Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried.”

In Joshua 1:9b we learn that wherever we go, God is with us. The similarities of the passages are instructive.

We are to care for family, friends, and neighbors. God will care for us. Quid pro quo plays no part, but Quo Vadis does.
