Trust In God

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. — Proverbs 3:5.

When I first read this verse I misread it to say “trust your heart, not your instincts.” Which raises the question how does God speak to you. Do you hear him in your heart, in your mind, in your gut, or perhaps a combination. I certainly have had times where I was sent different messages to my brain, heart, or gut, but whether they came from God or not I wasn’t certain. I do know that I’ve had better luck following my heart than my instincts. Perhaps, that is why I misread the verse.

What I do know is that when faced with a really tough decision or call, it is a good idea to confer with God by prayer or meditation. The answer will come. It may come in a unique way and may not be the answer you want, but “The answer will come.”
