Make Yourself At Home

I grew up with the greeting, “Make yourself at home.” My mother would constantly greet people at the door by saying, “Welcome, come on in and make yourself at home.”

I came across the greeting the other day and thought, “I need to make myself at home in my own skin.” We all need to find a comfort zone with ourselves. We cannot sincerely welcome others until we are welcome with who we are.

Happiness begins with who and what we are, not our dreams and aspirations.
