Shining Future

Ours Was A Shining Future by David Leonhardt

This book was recommended by a doctor friend. I haven’t read one page of it yet, but its title caught my attention. This Monday I spent a good bit of my meditation on the title, Ours Was A Shining Future.

There were several times when people might say that I had a shining future. The words might apply to sports, law, or politics. But for different reasons those lights eventually dimmed. For many of my friends they too had “shining futures” only to have a blind side block, health issues, or a very human mistake dim their future for a period of time. I’d say that no matter who you are, at some point your light will dim for a period of time.

When you meditate about your shining future that dimmed, don’t forget to spend a little bit of time on the shining future that exists this very day.
