Probably Suzy’s most often used truism is “Patience is a virtue.” I have heard the word used a lot this last weekend as the twelve year-old philosophers conspired with the “Yingling Two” to test the patience of Suzy and Caroline. Actually they have all been pretty well-behaved as we have ventured forth to the Whitewater center, the Biltmore, and all points of interest in between.
Suzy and Caroline’s patience reached at times biblical proportions, but I’m not sure they would agree with Isaiah when he declared: “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not be faint.”
To have patience, to wait upon the Lord, to know when it is time to back away and let things unfold, are indeed divine methods and ideals.
