Time

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Eccl.:3:1-8.

One of the most memorable passages in the Bible, probably because of the song by The Birds and the music of Pete Seeger. Yet, the words are probably 3000 years old. There are times when circumstances make us pessimistic, melancholy, of angry, but we should each make a conscious effort to be happy – to view life and all its conditions from its brightest angle. It enables us to seize and live life at its best.

This admonition applies to one’s religion or faith.  A creed that emphasizes the positive is much nobler than one that causes us to put on a long face and be serious. Reexamine your philosophy and your faith if it sanctions the melancholy and pessimism.

A deep and unquenchable spirit of joy is the best evidence of our belief in the love and generosity of God.
