Support The Weak

We must support the weak. —  Acts 20:35b

Today’s challenge requires us to see beyond financial hardship or physical prowess. Weakness can manifest in a hundred different ways: a failing body, a broken spirit, or a wavering resolve. This also isn’t a command directed only at the strong or the wealthy; it is a direct call to action for every one of us. No one is exempt from the duty of supporting others.

We are all part of a single fabric, and the strength of the whole depends on our willingness to actively seek out and support those who are struggling. The act of mutual support is about building a compassionate community where everyone has a hand to hold.  In our shared support and vulnerability, we find our common purpose: to seek out and lift up those who are struggling, not because we are commanded to, but because we recognize our own reflection in their need. It is in supporting one another that we truly fulfill our collective humanity.
