Treasure

God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong…to reduce to nothing things that are, so that no one might boast in the presence of God. — 1 Corinthians 27-29

The Christmas story begins in a lowly manger for a reason. God is about to turn the world’s fascination with privilege, entitlement, and riches on its head.
Income inequality and economic privilege are not just buzz words of the current presidential campaign. In the time of King David, it was normal for those seeing the stark inequalities of the world to resent, “the scorn of the indolent rich” and the “derision of the proud.” — Psalm 123:5.
We honor God and the message of Christmas when we take some time during this hectic season to store a few treasures in heaven.
Ask yourself, what treasure have I stored in heaven this Christmas season. If you haven’t had time, its not too late. There are still seven storing days left! Merry Christmas!
