Breathe

My Yoga instructor constantly reminds me to breathe. One would think I wouldn’t forget to do that, but when I’m stretching and straining, I tend to hold my breath. (In case you are trying to picture me doing yoga—don’t. It’s not a pretty sight.).
God calls us to breathe. To find moments of stillness, silence, and peace in the midst of of the most difficult of times. To remember to seek him in a quiet place when the world is pulling at us as if we are stuck in quicksand.
The first thing we do when we enter the world is breathe and it will be our last. Imagine with every breath taking God into your life, and with every exhale removing everything that is not of him.
For me the New Year begins today. Now if I will only remember to breathe.
