That’s right. Life teaches us that certainty is a fiction. When I was young I had a certain future, and a certain good health. One helmet hurling at high speed onto my knee was my first lesson in certainty but not my last.
Judas was certain that Jesus was the messiah, and he would over turn Roman control over his people. He was so certain he took matters into his own hands to make it happen. Look how that turned out. One wonders what would have happened if Judas had been less convinced, less certain.
If there is anything life has taught me it is that when the storms of uncertainty or rattling our windows and shaking our foundation it is to be patient and to hunker down. The storms will ultimately pass and we can take things from there. The next day always comes and so does hope. God has a plan we don’t need to be like Judas and take what we think it is into our own hands.
