Paradox

Paradox – A statement, proposition, or situation that seems to be absurd or contradictory, but in fact is or may be true.

In the movie Polyanna the preacher after being called to task by Haley Mills does in fact count the number of happy texts in the Bible. I forget the number, but it is one of the great/sappiest scenes in the movie depending on your point of view. For years I have marveled by how many paradoxes exist in the New Testament and are deeply entrenched in our faith. (Anybody who has a number count of the number of spiritual laws that are paradoxes, please volunteer by posting a comment.)

One of the top five has to be the paradoxical truth — we recieve by giving, not by self-seeking.
