Ageing

I still have trouble with the Book of Revelation, then again I have trouble understanding the HBO special and the book, Game of Thrones and I was a total failure at the game Dungeons and Dragons. Still I keep trying and occasionally find an acorn. “See I am making all things new.” (Rev. 21.5) There are days now where I don’t feel so new. My knees refuse to bend, my back aches, and the stairs seem extremely daunting.

Then something happens, maybe its watching little Rebecca negotiate her first steps or watching Lila or Allen run with reckless abandon, and I get a glimpse of what my life is supposed to be – the life God has given me in the breathtakingly beautiful world he has given to all of us. New strength courses through my bones, and I am renewed.

The other acorn I found today in Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17 rings true. “Your old men shall dream dreams.”
