Thy Kingdom Come

If you do not wish for His kingdom, don’t pray for it. But if you do, you must do more than pray for it; you must work for it. – John Ruskin

A day hardly goes by when I don’t ask, “what is my calling, why was I the recipient of a transplant, and what would God have me do?” Often, I am met with silence. I don’t know if you find that to be your case or not. But when I came across Ruskin’s quote I felt a “nudge.” It’s so simple, but  also so very clear – if you wish for His Kingdom, you must work for it.

As we meditate and pray this week spend a moment asking the question, “How do we bring God’s kingdom to earth and in our lives,” and then don’t pray for it, work for it.   It most certainly will change our lives.
