Will

How Happy is he born or taught,

That serveth not another’s will,

Whose armor is his honest thought,

And simple truth his utmost skill. – H. Wotton

“Bullying” is in the news a lot, especially the new phenomena of using social media to humiliate and abuse. Pressure to fit in is not isolated to our children or in our schools. The workplace and our social circles may exert less visible or blatant pressures, but they can be just as cruel and hurtful. If there is a lesson we can teach our children and ourselves it is —  whatever is before you, do it following right reason, seriously, vigorously, calmly without letting anything or anyone to distract you. Expect nothing, fear nothing, and be satisfied with whatever you are doing for its sake. If you do, with heroic truth in every sound and word you utter you will be happy, and there is no man or woman who is able to prevent this.
