Trust

We know not what the path may be

As yet by us untrod;

But we can trust all to Thee

Our Father and our God. – Wm. J. Irons

We have very little control over the circumstances in which we may be called by God to live out our part. We do have control over the temper of our soul, but next to no command over the outward form of our trial. The most energetic will cannot order our the events by which we will be tested.  Powers quite beyond our reach may change the conditions of our life. Have we not all learned this one way or another? Life can be going along smoothly and we feel on top of the world, only to have something happen that turns our whole world upside down. If you haven’t had this happen, it will. It has happened to me for than once, and is likely to happen again.

So my friends look not out toward at what stands in your way, but look inward where the law of life is written and the will of God is revealed. All obstacles are but pebbles if you put your trust and hope in God. Advent is the season of hope, embrace it with all your heart and soul.
