Saturday in the Third Week of Lent

The shadow of a great rock in a weary land. – Isiah 32:2

In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength. Isiah 30:15

During Lent we strive to see God in all things even in “a great rock in a weary land.” ( A fantastic image wouldn’t you say, one of God’s nuggets.) During Lent we “step down” doing everything a little calmer and  a little quieter. Nothing can disturb our inner peace whatsoever, even when “All Hell has done broke loose.” During Lent we learn during the most tumultuous times to cling to God, trusting in his love, and when we do wander forth, our hearts always know the directions back to God’s shelter. Lent teaches us a simplicity of spirit and how to not smother ourselves with a host of cares, wishes, or longings. In Lent’s “returning and rest” we are saved, and in “quietness and confidence” we stride forward.
