Tuesday in the Fourth Week of Lent

Be ye thankful – Col. 3:15

Thou that hast given so much to me,

Give one thing more, a grateful heart.

Not thankful when it pleaseth me,

As if thy blessings had spare days;

But such a heart, whose pulse may be

Thy praise. – G. Herbert

If anyone were to ask, “What’s the shortest, surest way to happiness?”. The answer would be – make it a rule to praise God for everything that happens to you — The good and the bad. If you experience what you think is a disaster, and you turn around and thank God for it, you turn it into a blessing. It’s all in the attitude. You can do nothing more for yourself than to develop a constant thankful spirit. It heals and it turns all it touches into happiness.
