God Quiets Me

I came across a quotation that included the phrase — “God quiets me.” It is one of those nuggets I run across from time to time. No matter what my latest anxiety is – worries about money, worries about health, worries about things out of my control – I say the mantra, God Quiets Me, and things calm down.

In truth anything I am denied I find over time I never needed it in the first place. No matter what burden has been placed on my shoulders, I later realize I needed it. One of these days, I will learn to simply cast my concerns to God and to live simply in the care and wisdom of my father.

Whenever I try to follow my own way I am quickly hedged up with thorns and thistles. My path grows darker and darker. Instead I need to have faith, live more quietly, and let God Quiet Me.
