Contentment

Be content with such things as ye have. – Hebrews 13:5

I have learned in whatever state I am, therein be content – Phil. 4:2

No longer forward nor behind

I look in hope or fear

But, grateful take the good I find,

The best of now and here. – J. G. Whittier

Greetings from Jackson, Mississippi. We are in week four of the When Men Betray book tour headed to Dallas. Everywhere I go someone says, “Boy you have had a lot of experiences to draw on in your writing.” I have indeed, but those experiences and the wisdom I have gained from my years have taught me that the wisdom above is ever so true.

I am still every now and then anxious about the morrow, and then I remember to catch myself. Tomorrow is God’s, not mine. The heaviest part of sorrow often is to look forward to it. “The Lord will provide,” and these past few weeks have proved that over and over again. I have an abundance of friends and love. Who wouldn’t be content?
