Dwell In A Secret Place

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. – Psalms 91:1

We are promised that if we dwell in “the secret place of the Most High” no evil shall befall us. Doesn’t sound true or realistic does it? We know bad things happen to the best of people. But what is difficult to understand is for those who dwell in God’s secret place sorrows are not “evils,” and sicknesses are not “plagues.” In God’s secret place he alters the character of all things.

Rutherford says, “ It is faith’s work to claim and challenge loving-kindness out of all the roughest strokes of God.” As children of faith we seek God’s secret place to be cooled by his shadow.
