I don’t know about you, but when I’m asked, “have you been born again?,” I want to run. Yet I’ve come to believe with the wisdom of old age that the phrase “born again” itself has gotten a bad rap.
Advent is not just about the preparing for and the literal birth of Jesus. It is much more. Advent is an opportunity the begin again with God at the center of your life, and even more amazing is the fact that we can be begin again no matter our age, personality, or background. It is not even critical we do it during Advent. God invites all of us to a new birth, a new way of being in the world, anytime.
