Palm Sunday

We all know the story. Today’s marks the day when Jesus rides into Jerusalem to songs of praise and celebration only to die on the cross a few days later. Its at this point I really wish Jesus had written an autobiography.
He knew that that this is the point for which he had been born, but did he once consider turning away from the city which would turn on him so quickly over the next few days pleading to Pilate that he be crucified.
I suspect he would have said, yes it crossed my mind, but there are just things we have to do, some places we just have to go, and some times we just have to take on faith that we are doing what we were meant to do.
We all face those crossroads at points in our life. We know we can’t avoid the next few days, we can’t turn our backs on our friends no matter how they act in response. We can see they whole thing act out before it even happens, and for the short term it isn’t pretty but a voice tells us we should proceed anyway.
This is one of the many lessons of Palm Sunday. When such a moment occurs Jesus I believe would say to call on God to give us strength and forge ahead. There are just times where we are called to enter our own personal Jerusalem.
