Beautiful Wild Forces Within Us

There are beautiful wild forces within us. Let them turn the mills inside and fill sacks that feed even heaven. — St. Francis of Assisi

We often think of wild forces as something untamed and out of control. Surely wild forces can’t be good? But that’s not what St. Francis says. He alludes to our wild streak as beautiful and something that can be a force for good. I guess it all depends on whether like a wild stallion we can be tamed and our energy put to good use.

Recently I put in one of my books a reference to a wild hair. The editor took it out not knowing to what I was alluding. Yet, I think we all have a little wild force within each of us. What is yours and can you harness it to “feed even heaven?”

  1. Yes, wild hairs are about the only ones I have left and they get me in lots of trouble! But that is what makes life fun!

    1. I’ll not fall prey to a response. Your wild hairs are lots of fun that’s for sure. W.
