A Day To Hum — Here Comes The Sun

A man standing on two logs in a river might do all right floating with the current while humming in the now…. Most minds do not live in the present and can stick to a reasonable plan; most minds abruptly turn and undermine the chance of humming. — Rumi.

It’s okay to be in the present and hum a favorite song or like Seven Dwarfs whistle a happy tune. Life accelerates at a lightning pace, and the only way to slow it down is to occasionally hum your favorite tune.

How many of you write down on your daily to-do list write down: hum, whistle, or dance a jig? Don’t you wonder what Rumi was humming in the thirteenth century. Whatever it was it got him to start twirling and to found the “whirling dervishes.” I wonder what tune will get me whirling as well. Do you think it could be the Beatles, “Here Comes The Sun.”

What tune are you humming today?
