Honesty, Sincerity, and Integrity

Speak with honesty. Think with sincerity. Act with integrity. Valorie Kondos Field.

I learned as an athlete that if you wanted to know about a teammate’s integrity you didn’t watch how he acted on the field, but how he behaved off the field. Make excuses about being late to class, and you will make excuses about missing a block instead of trying to do a better job the next play. Have a sloppy room or poor hygiene habits in the dorm, and one is likely to be undisciplined on the court. Treat a teacher with disrespect, and one will ignore the coach at a critical time in the game.

God does not expect us to be perfect, but he does ask of each of us that we wake up with a plan to be honest, sincere, and go about our day with integrity.  It’s not a bad mantra for one’s mantra during meditation.

Honesty, sincerity, and integrity. Say it five times in the morning and it will start to take hold.
